Sichuan Ewende New Material Co., Ltd. collects silica fume where it is made — alongside ferrosilicon and silicon-metal furnaces in Qinghai, Gansu, Ningxia, Shaanxi and Inner Mongolia. Bag-house filters pull roughly 7,100 tonnes of powder out of the off-gas every month, and it is packed at source rather than traded through a warehouse.

Buyers usually call us after one of three things has happened: the SiO₂ content drifted between batches, the powder arrived caked with moisture, or nobody answered when a shipment slipped. All three are process problems — and they are solved at the furnace, not at a trader's desk.

Is 85% SiO₂ enough for my application?

It depends on what you are casting, not on the number alone. ASTM C1240 and EN 13263 both set the floor at 85% SiO₂, so an 85–90% grade performs well in ready-mix, shotcrete and precast once the dosage is right. For refractory castables, UHPC and low-iron work we recommend the 94–97% grades — our standard production runs above 90%, up to 97%. Tell us the application and we will point you to the grade that fits, not the most expensive one.

What are the typical properties of your silica fume?

SiO₂ content 90–97% (typical). Average particle size 0.15 µm — roughly one hundredth the size of a cement grain. Specific surface area up to 18,000 m²/kg, which is where the pozzolanic activity comes from. Colour runs light grey to dark grey and true density is about 2.1–2.3 g/cm³. Every batch ships with its own chemical and physical test report.

What is the difference between low-chloride and ZrO₂ grades?

Low-chloride silica fume keeps Cl⁻ at or below 0.02%, which is what prestressed, marine and nuclear specifications ask for — chloride attacks the steel. The ZrO₂ grade comes from zircon-bearing smelting and carries about 3.6% ZrO₂; it is used in refractory castables, ramming mixes and UHPC, where the zirconia adds corrosion resistance. Same product family, two different jobs.

Are you a factory or a middleman?

A manufacturer. We run several types of submerged arc furnace — silicon metal, ferrosilicon, zirconium and silicon carbide — across 5 production bases in China, with our own collection, densification and QC lines. You are buying from the plant that makes it, which is why we can also talk you out of a grade you do not need.

Can I get a free sample and the test reports?

Yes. Samples are free in testing quantity — send over the delivery address and we will arrange the courier. Test reports and the COA for the exact batch we would ship go out together with the quotation, so you can check the numbers before you commit to anything.

What packing and payment terms do you offer?

Standard packing is 25 kg neutral white coated PP/PE woven bags, or 500–1,000 kg neutral white ton bags. Palletised bags, jumbo bags and printed private-label bags are available on request. Payment is normally T/T or L/C at sight; the exact terms are confirmed on the proforma invoice, so tell us your usual terms and we will match what we can.

What is your MOQ?

One pallet — 1,000 kg net — for a trial, or one 20-foot container (about 25 t) for the best unit price. You do not have to commit to a container before seeing how the material behaves in your own mix.

How fast will I get a quote, and what is the lead time?

Technical questions are answered within one working day. A priced offer, with packing and freight options laid out side by side, usually lands within 24–48 hours. Lead time is 7–15 days for stock grades after deposit, and 15–25 days for densified or custom grades.

How much should I add, and what does it do in concrete?

For high-strength, high wear-resistance and underwater anti-washout concrete, dose 5–10% of the cementitious material. For ordinary strength, impermeability, durability or self-compacting mixes, 2–5% is enough. In practice it improves pumping, lets the mix take more vibration without segregating, keeps flow while holding shear strength, and stops wash-out when concrete is placed underwater.

What is the shelf life, and how should it be stored?

Keep it dry and off the floor: silica fume is not a shelf-life product, but moisture makes it cake and slows down dispersion in the mixer. Sealed bags stored in a dry, covered warehouse hold their properties well past 12 months. If a bag has been open for a while, run it through the mixer slightly longer rather than adding more water.
